Extravaganza!

I told you I'd be away for a few days, and it ended up being quite a bit longer then expected. So to make it up to you, here's some music I've been rocking in the last few days.


No download on the next track, but it's so good I had to post it.

A friend showed me this new deadmau5 track stub a few minutes after it broke and it already had 10K+ hits. Seriously, he's killing it. Also, if this track is any indication, he's shifting back towards the prog-house side of the spectrum which is where, personally, some of his best work is. I'd totally be down with a Strobes sequel.

And because it is Spring Break, here's a track to dance to.

Bring Them Home

So I'm sitting here waiting for my ride up to the mountain, so I figured I should probably post today. I've seen like 30 people do the walk of shame in the last 10 minutes that I've been awake so I figure some of you could use some music to uh...soothe your dignity. So here's french artist Kick Snare Leave that got some huge respect lately from the song you should be listening to. His indie electro flow is great, really making me wish I knew more about him. So here it is, enjoy.

Like You Mean It

Okay so a couple things, first off when I started this post I wasn't planning to post the second song, but I heard it and it was the first remix of Raise Your Weapon that wasn't terrible I've heard, and I love deadmau5 so deal, more awesome music! Also, I'm sick, so that's my excuse for my short post.

Move.Meant is who this post was going to focus around, but then I realized that I really do not know much about this California based hip-hop group that flows with a distrubing amount of similarity to the legendary Common. Of course, it isn't quite there and few of Move.Meant's lines are covered in cliche. Make no mistake, this is not to say that the song is not amazing, it is for sure one of the few true hip-hop song's I've stumbled upon recently.

Madeon is a young French electronic producer that exploded a little while ago, and then again a few days ago when Pete Tong gave his delicious remix of Raise Your Weapon some Radio 1 play and the whole world turned their eyes to this kid. His style is French electro for sure, but it's nice to see a Frenchmen get some play on an English station, jokes.

Anyways, I'm feeling like death so enjoy the songs, I know I sure did. Have a good few days, I'm out.

So today is gunna be different. A couple remixes of the same song, with less of me talking,and more of you listening. It's mother's day, and you guys should go give your mother's some hugs and make the dinner or something. They'll appreciate it ♥

Please Don't Go(Hype Jones and Pierce Fulton Remix)
A pretty good remix, lots of build up, and that's not always bad. But I was expecting a bit more of a hammer. Still, the piano tune melody gave me some to be happy about and the transitions are pretty good

Please Don't Go(DJ Kues Remix)
A chillwave remix of Mr.Posner and it turns out pretty good. Not the best remix in my opinion,but something to relax to if you feel like having a nice Sunday afternoon or something. Mixing the bassline of a French Electro song with a dance pop artist maybe wasn't the best of ideas, but it's not bad!

Yeah, honestly not a good call, and I had to toss it in here to show that I don't love everything that includes these two.

Please Don't Go(Butch Clancy Remix)
Probably my favorite version of the song, including the original. I know, blasphemy, but I'm a big fan of remixes and Butch adds that little bit extra to enhance the dance-ability of the song. At the same time, it's good to chill to. Both hands up! and shades on driving anthem's for sure.

Suspensful Succession

As usually of late, I am going to apologize in advance for the post being short, sorry ♥! Anyways, we've got an old mashup that I just listened to again and decided that it merited being posted to aT.

The two original songs are good on their own, the first one I get to talk about is by deadmau5 and
Kaskade. These two make up some of the biggest names in electronic and dance music. Of course, this kind of fame comes with usually a limit in the genre of songs that they make. However, both have seemed to avoid this and move into some different genres of electronica. Their contribution to the song is I Remember a trance anthem with a pretty cool music video, even though it's more of a short film.

The Xx is a British indie pop band that met at school. Yeah, not very exciting but still pretty cool. Anyways, they made a huge splash on the universal music scene getting some big acclaim for their first album in '09 xx. They cover alot of songs of other people, and this song, Shelter, is a cover of Hercules Love Affair. The Xx are big, so watch out for them.

Austin Eterno is the mastermind behind this song, and honestly I don't really know anything about him. I think he comes from Burlington, Vermont but beyond that I don't know. He's got a bunch of music up on his Soundcloud. I do suggest you check it out cause it is pretty damn good.

Hot Like Snow

So today on this turbulently weathered day, we have a gem which is,for a change on this blog, rather new. Late Night Alumni is an interesting mix of dance,trance and the artists affliction to strings that blossom into an myriad of musical soothing. American based Ryan Raddon, aka Kaskade had the idea of combining downtempo music and angelic vocals, and it worked.

Kaskade is famous in his own right, hailing from the Windy City, he helped the advancement of North American electronic music with 4AM, collabs I Remember and Move For Me with frequenter of aT deadmau5. Most recently, he's been moving to the mainstream with Fire In Your New Shoes with Canadian Dragonette. All of this, and he's still going strong. And this project of his is much more chillwave, almost moving into a folktronica kind of flow with the latest album Haunted which just dropped on the 8th. I encourage you guys to check it out.

And I do that because it has gems like this one. Becky Jean Williams does the vocals for the band and her voice is one that resonates through every fiber in these songs. Perfectly fit for these tunes, it really brings to life the already becalming melody. The band is most known for their single Empty Streets. It got underground and club support, despite Ministry of Sound not showing backing for a full album. A remix of it got featured on Tiesto's legendary In Search Of Sunrise compilation. If you're into Trance, check those out, they are amazing. Anyways, what it led to was the lift-off as Late Night Alumni as a full band, not just a short lived project. And I for one an glad of this.

Break!

Sorry guys, I've had a hectic Christmas break. I hope you guys had a good one. So deadmau5 is not only probably the biggest thing ever in House music. It makes me happy because, being from Canada, I gotta show some love for him. Any veteran of his music knows how much it has changed and evolved. He started in house music classics like Tau V2 and Bounce. In the last few years he's decided, fuck it, I'll expand. So he did. He started out with I Remember which featured Kaskade, American electronica superstar. First time he ever got radio play time.

After this, he gave everyone the hit he was waiting for. Ghosts n' Stuff. It was his biggest mainstream hit and it gave him the room to blow up all over the world. He smashed records for dance and electronic charts. He put North America on the map for the dance scene. But, he did start to show some deviation from house music, getting him so flack from his core fans. Next up in his rise to stardom from T.O is Strobe. Oh and for the links, open them in a new tab, can't make them do that on their own,sorry.

Now don't get me wrong, I love me some deadmau5, even with his wanderings into dubstep with Raise Your Weapon. But , lets be clear, deadmau5 is at his best when he's playing house music. So, he went back to it with Limit Break and let everyone have it for free. There we have it, enjoy everyone.

Spaceship!

Whoa two posts in a row about flying, awesome. Anyways, so this Mansions on the Moon are awesome, no doubt, and if you haven't heard of them, WHY NOT!? They give away their music for free so that right there makes them fantasmic, and to sweeten the deal it's even good!( I just re-read that and it would make more sense to switch the two but hey...whatever...tis a Saturday afternoon) They took Strobe by Deadmau5 which is an awesome in it's own rights, added some chill vocals and cropped it to have the best part. Man, I love this! So I got their EP off their website(Right here so you can get it too!) and I'm loving most of it. With this kinda trance-y chill stuff, it takes the right frame of mind but because it's pouring rain outside right now and I have the pleasure of studying chemistry, I am. So, now that I've said that, I must stop procrastinating and go back to Dynamic Equilibrium. I'm excited already...
