Every Other Way

So my mouse died yesterday, it served me so well... I'm really sad I had to pick up another one last night to fill in for it while I decide if I want to spend some actual money on one because I'm much to big of a nerd to just buy one and go with it at this point. Any suggestions? The one I picked up has a pinky rest and it's driving me crazy so I know I don't want one of those, it makes typing feel really weird because I have to hold my mouse super cramped up. Anyways, after that aside of showing just how super cool I am... Music!!

Super ambient/whatever you want to call it for the first two songs today. We've talked about Germany Germany and how much I love him, seriously he's fantastic. His indie-electronic vibe is just great for so many reasons. So here' something by him. And to compliment that something by someone who has music quite similar, Baths.

ps,not a typo in the name

So this song was good to start with, two of the biggest names in production, not only of House and various other forms of electronic music but both have worked on some huge pop hits which is impressive simply because you have to be pretty damn good to be hired by a AAA record label. Anyways, I don't understand how but Avicii played 3 shows in Halloween and none of them were on my side of the country. He is apparently going to Vancouver for Boxing day which if that's the case there is a high possibility I'll be going to that. I hope anyways. Anyways, check out Special Features, he's going off like crazy.

Hope this will help you get to the end of the week, the promise of a nearby ski hill opening on November 24th and not early December made my week, but music always helps. I'm out guys ♥

Serene Sensations

I know, I didn't get a post up yesterday, I'm sorry. Two tests later today, that's my legitimate excuse for not writing. Don't leave me, we're just getting to know each other. Anyways, today we have a beauty of a song by some guy that hails from Victoria that we've listened to before, Germany Germany.

Honestly, I do not understand his name, but that's just how it goes. He is Drew Harris, a Victoria,BC native. Oh hell yeah, throw it up for my province! Anyways,he started making waves last year as he pumped out content fast and it was good. An indie electro flow that caught the attention of some top flight blogs and rocketed up Hype Machine, and better yet most of it was FREE! Check his music out that's up on Distorted Disco. Anyways, he's got a lo-fi sound mixed with the skratchi-ness(totally a word) of basement production, constantly giving the impression of a tactile thing. Just my impression, but it seems so much more real, and starting live shows with an amalgamation of other Victoria artists, they some how pull of a live showing of this music. Honestly, I'm impressed, and I'm hoping I get the chance to go see GG sometime in May when they come to Vancouver. But, if not, that's how it goes, I still love the music!

Couple things here, the music is below on SoundCloud because I wanna give respect where respect is due, and because the link was on my Facebook front page and I'm lazy. So download it from there, or if that doesn't work, you can get it here from his website. Next thing is the music video for the song. It's by an indie film maker from Germany, actually from Germany, not an impostor, and it's clips from a full film that uses lots of Harris' music. Soooo I encourage you to check it out but it's really up to you. I like it, which is weird because alot of indie stuff I just lose my mind when they try to be clever and end up being pompous asshats. But, I digress, the music is amazing and that's all that it really boils down too.

I hope you guys love the song as much as I do, I've listened to it a stupid amount of times in the last weekish, and I still want to put it on repeat and just vibe. Anyways, I'm out!

Take Me Home by Germany Germany

Canada Canada

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your weekend was good and forgetful, and in the spirit of that, I have a fitting song. No, it's not a club banger or a dance anthem, but an indie-electro producer that hails from Victora, BC. So here we go.

Germany Germany was a band that I found while trolling through Hypemachine and doing homework. I heard the song you should be listening to now, and decided to check out some more of their stuff. Turns out, I didn't have to get it illegally, as all of his albums are hosted right here with only one album needing to be bought. Personally, I would suggest it as it is my favorite album, but that's just my opinion. Drew Harris is the man behind all this magical music. Producing out of his basement with some lo-fi gear and high creativity giving a sound that is both unique and enjoyable.

Now, I spent some time trying to decide what genre he falls into as the OCD part of me desires to know. Ultimately, I had to decide on, previously stated, indie-electro. Now, I'm hesitant to call it indie because that makes me think of plaid shirts and lens-less glasses but his sound is something I have not heard before by anyone. The production sound gives it a feel that is reminiscent of winter nights by the fire. But that's cause most of his music makes me sleepy. Anyways, that's just me. I'll leave it up to you to decide how you want to classify it. As it boils down though, it is undoubtedly, good. I hope you guys agree. And I'm out!
