Happy December!

It's fucking December! Get stoked! I love this time of year, less school, more snow, skiing and Christmas! It's just so exciting all the time! So I am, pretty amped. Anyways, in music news, if you've been on Hypem you'll have noticed that OVERWERK dropped his EP yesterday. So I figure I should probably give a review of it, as he was part of TGCHU! and I've shown them quite a bit of love. He's a Toronto based producer who's single Buzzin' burst him into the music scene a little while ago. His EP, titled The Nth ยบ, is continuous mix, which I think is almost always a good idea, especially because it's not awkward when played not in consecutive order. It's very upbeat, with a definite Electro influence, hearing an album today that doesn't have a dubstep track is a nice change. Here's a song from it, so listen loud, and check out the whole thing, it's worth your time.
Paradigm-OVERKWERK & Nick Nikon

So I try really hard to have a very diverse posting of music, but when Rusko and Mike Posner come around and pump out a great song it's hard to ignore the fact that it's there. So two electronic songs it is, I'm a big fan of Mike Posner's voice, he's done some pretty big things as far as convincing me that guys should stay away from singing unless they're playing a guitar, and this is totally different from what I've heard. Shut Up is less sweet vocals and more rhymes, which actually works alright for me. Rusko provides a delicious beat and Posner makes sure to deliver in the vocals department.

Fight For Days

So I'm going to skip the prelude, just start listening to this song, Neon Hitch's voice is making it hard for me concentrate on anything except this damn song.
Ass Back Home-Gym Class Heroes & Neon Hitch
I'm pretty much addicted to this song, it's been replay for the last day and I'm still not sick of it. The Gym Class Heroes used to be one of those indie-hiphop bands that no one had heard of, but now they've actually put out some pretty popular stuff and it makes me happy. The hook in this song is so damn addictive though.

And this this corner, we have Manila based producer Manila Killa (omg what a clever name!) who so kindly released some free music. So take a listen, and check them out, if you like this one. I'm a big fan of Mike Posner, his voice is something that doesn't really happen that often, so I try to enjoy it.
Please Don't Go(Manila Killa Remix)-Mike Posner
This post is up a bit later, and they will be starting now because I am writing them after my first class instead of before now. Except on the days when I start later...yeah it's just confusing. If you have twitter, I update that when I post and try to give shoutouts to the people I'm posting about. Unless they're big and famous and wouldn't care. But yeah, I have to start studying for a midterm I have tomorrow, so I'm out!

No One to Call

So today is gunna be different. A couple remixes of the same song, with less of me talking, and more of you listening. It's mother's day, and you guys should go give your mother's some hugs and make the dinner or something. They'll appreciate it ♥
Yeah, I score brownie points like a boss!

Please Don't Go(Hype Jones and Pierce Fulton Remix)
A pretty good remix, lots of build up, and that's not always bad. But I was expecting a bit more of a hammer. Still, the piano tune melody gave me some to be happy about and the transitions are pretty good

Please Don't Go(DJ Kues Remix)
A chillwave remix of Mr.Posner and it turns out pretty good. Not the best remix in my opinion, but something to relax to if you feel like having a nice Sunday afternoon or something. Mixing the bassline of a French Electro song with a dance pop artist maybe wasn't the best of ideas, but it's not bad!

Please Don't Go(DOSVEC Remix)
Yeah, honestly not a good call, and I had to toss it in here to show that I don't love everything that includes these two.

Please Don't Go(Butch Clancy Remix)
Probably my favorite version of the song, including the original. I know, blasphemy, but I'm a big fan of remixes and Butch adds that little bit extra to enhance the dance-ability of the song. At the same time, it's good to chill to. Both hands up! and shades on driving anthem's for sure.

So there you have it, I hope you guys enjoyed them, grab the ones you like, don't for the ones you hate! Have a good mother's day, I'm out!

Repetative Remedy

Let's jump right in today shall we? Hopefully I get my song hosting problem fixed rather quickly but for now I'll just mooch of other sites. Out of respect, check out the sites that I link to for the music, it'll be as the album title for most of them. But if not, well sorry if I don't give the proper respects

Mike Posner is the singer that burst onto the scene in the summer of 2010 with Cooler Then Me. That song was pretty much my anthem last summer, and for good reason. Big Sean was sampled on the album version as opposed to both the video and radio versions, and it was much better, some of Posner's lines were altered too, once again the album version was better. But that's neither here nor there, this song was off his mixtape he made before he launched his 31 Minutes to Takeoff which has an interesting namesake. He did all this while attending Duke University and maintaining something like a 3.9 GPA and touring on the weekends. Doesn't really matter what degree he was getting, that's pretty impressive. Anyways, he's making another album at the moment and it's turning out pretty well, if the latest verse he's put up with Lil'Wayne is any indication.

AudioDax is a young duo that met at DePauw University in Indiana, and, both being musically talented decided to record some stuff together. It turned out well, and they started turning heads fast. Made up of Tremble, an a producer and singer, and Krypton Flo an emcee the two bring a very interesting combination of music to the table. Click their name up above, it'll lead you to their website and you can get some free music off of them, and that just makes me like 20x cooler...than me. That was a stretch, but anyways, the song is a very melodic, glitchy make you dance type of song, and it ends well for everyone involved. Alot of the original song is maintained while more rhythm and drops are added. Honestly, I never really thought about making a dubstep remix of this song, but I suppose it does make sense considering the beat and the...good natured(sarcasm) lyrics.

Hopefully, Posner keeps turning out songs with strong vocals beats that hit the niche between pop and dance music. Of course, the dubstep remix helped with the potentially repetitive beat, and everyone left dancing. I'm out!
