Find Solace

I know I missed a day, I decided to go skiing both days this weekend and then I came home and slammed my face into homework. However, now it's Monday and I'm...well I can't really be sad I spent the weekend skiing. Regardless, it's music time! I posted about Carousel a little while ago, and they're still awesome. They even e-mailed me to tell me about a song they released, which I promptly didn't see because I usually check my e-mail when I need to find something for a class like how it's cancelled and I showed up anyways... No matter, here it is, check it out.
Know It's Right-Carousl

In something totally different, here's ¥oin is a British electronic producer who makes the catchiest remix of a Cassie song. Yes, you read that right, a popstar(whom I didn't realize was so attractive) that has had, so far, pretty much one successful song. Still, her voice is amazing and ¥oin does an great job of layering vocals and making the already enjoyable melody even more foot-tapping.
Me & U(Yoin Remix)-Cassie
I'm off to class and dealing with my poor, but enjoyable, time management skills. Hope the music helps you get through your days as much as it is mine, I'm out.

Sleepless Mornings

Okay so here we go, nice and fast today. First off is a chilling song from the movie Sucker Punch. Yeah, weird movie but I actually really liked it, and this song is just fantastic. The soft vocals mixed with the ambient music, well it's one of the best songs I've heard off a movie, and a damn good song in it's own right.
Where Is My Mind?-Yoav & Emily Browning
PS this song starts real quiet, so either turn up your volume, suggested, and or download it.

In a nice contrast, which actually wasn't planned, we have a very happy song. Whomever did the vocals for this track are like the ideal person you want doing songs that are supposed to make you feel good inside for no reason. Honestly, they're just so overflowing with joy! Message ain't bad either, so enjoy it!
I'm In Love(Vocal Mix)-Alex Gaudino

I know, rushed I'm sorry, I'll try to make it up to you guys with a few most songs on Saturday, have a good couple of days. I'm out!

Halo And Wings

This lack of sleeping is making me go crazy, I don't understand it! I try to go to bed early and then I just don't... Anyways, music helps keep me stable so let's get into it. Chiddy Bang keeps expanding from remixes to full fledged songs, and I'm liking this slower side, it's really relaxing, and that's just a good thing when I'm trying to keep my eyes from staying open. I know, I just said otherwise but it makes sense.
Slow Down (Ft. Black Thought)-Chiddy Bang

Next we have the VERY talented young man, Madeon, who if you click on the tag below you will find did a deadly remix of deadmau5's Raise Your Weapon. Anyways, this is something totally different and equally enjoyable.
Smile Like You Mean It (Madeon Remix)-The Killers

So if you noticed, the songs are in a different place. Feed back? Have a good one guys, I'm out!

See Spaces

Alright so here we go, the 1st of September, the start of not summer. So while I've had some celebration songs, I think now it's time to look back upon summer and that needs a different kind of song, so here they are. Two indie rock songs to fill your ears on this dreary, compared to the rest of summer, day for me. Packing and it's not even sunny outside, so let music take you there.

So if you're in New York, or very near to it I HIGHLY suggest you go to the Electric Zoo as it looks even better then it looked last year. It's times like this I wish I could fly. Or afford to fly.

Hits Me

So here we are again, you're looking for some music, and for like the last 40 minutes I have been too, I just could not decide what to post, but I think we're there! Without further adieu, listen loud.

Taking Back Sunday is probably someone you never thought you'd hear on this blog, but here we are. Angst filled lyrics mixed with very extreme changes in songs along with the unique voice that should be coming through your speakers/headphones at this point. They've had some pretty big success, they're biggest being Where You Want To Be which is where the first and more upbeat of these two songs comes from. Upbeat is something I use only in comparison.

The second song is well...the first lyrics kinda set the mood. Beyond that, well it's a pretty emotional song, in both definitions of the word. I hope you guys enjoy this random interjection of very angsty music, it's still enjoyable. Have a good one guys, I'm out!

Redundant Repression

So it's been a couple of days, sorry about that. My excuse is that I was skiing, and that was important cause the season is ending and I probably got up there for the last time, which sucks=( But summer is coming so that means water skiing and wakeboarding may be possible, work just is gunna get in the way. But you don't need to hear my life story, you need to hear music!

Boys Night Out is a band that will increase my Canadian content on this blog, so there's a good sign, plus their music is fantastic! They're power punk band from Burlington, Ontario, which is close to Toronto and thus that's where they play quite a few of their shows. Hint, hint if you live near there go see them. If you like their music of course, and you should. Sadly, they never achived mainsttream success so most of their songs are lost in obsecurity, I don't even know where I got their music from, but I hope to share it and maybe expose them to a few more people. I've posted about them before, I think, and I probably rambled on like I am now so I'll stop about the band and move onto the song.

To be honest, this song is very depressing, but it's offset by some pretty fantastic backing music and some chilling vocal delivery. The effect on the voice makes it sound like their playing in a tunnel, but it fits with the song, which is about heartbreak and misery. Now, don't get it twisted, I'm not depresed or anything, but being a teenager, well any age, I'm allowed to have my bouts of melancholy. And when I decided to upload this song,I was in one of those moods. Sooo deal, it's still a good song. The title is rather fitting, as the song itself displays quite a bit of longing and desire towards someone, yet all in all, she must be let go. Let that be a lesson!

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the song, I know it's a bit more down then my other stuff, but oh well, I'm out!

I'm trying out a new hosting site so if it fails, sorry, my other one died or something so all of the songs I had up'd from there are now gone, if that's a big issue e-mail me and I'll try to sort it all out. Thanks for sticking it out with me guys, I know I'm not the most reliant of bloggers

Shawty Snappin'

This is gunna be a super short post, but I love you guys so I'm doin' in. I have no idea who these people are, aside from that they are brother and sister and hail from Australia or NZ, I don't remember off the top of my head which one. Sorry if that offends ya! THe boogleg is better then the original in my opinion but that's just me. It's a voice modified version with a backing electronic change so it might "perfect" the song for some. But not me!
Yeah, I told you short post, I'll be back to normal in another two days, I'm out!

Mutual Destruction

So this post might be usual length, but no promises, I am writing in my study again as I have no time to after school. As I'll be studying...hrm, I think I need to re-evaluate my time usage but that's okay, that's for another time. Right now I get to share this dance pop song that leaves me wanting to be part of a musical dance scene ending in roses. But hell, there's my over tired Monday imagination working!

So The Dance Party is a pop/rock band that hails from College Part, DC. In '05 the starting tearing up the Mid-Atlantic with hugeexplosiveawesome shows that stayed very true to their name. A dance party masquerading as a band's show, gave them a name as being a fun time. While most pop music I have a problem with, these guys aren't singing formula songs, they are making their own style, or at least one that hasn't been heard for a long time, cause as Nas says "no idea's original". Influences include some other weird pop rock bands I've never heard of but I'm told sound similar. Honestly, they sound like '70's pop to me and I love it.

The point is that their music is fun, and it's getting lots of Blog love. Their most recent album Touch lit up Hype machine with remixs of Sasha Don't Sleep. Yeah, they got some respect for their talent and even though their songs lack deep meaning, they do make you wanna jump with your hands up. Filled with sex, drugs and rock n' roll they parade around the stage performing some of they best live shows around in today's music world, and that is saying something. So, enjoy the fun song, and save it for the summer, it'll surely be as good then as it is now, and more fitting for the weather. I'm out!

Après Ski

Sorry about the late post this time guys, I was up at Whistler all weekend for some fantastic skiing(very cold, but good) and some Olympic memories. And while I was up there I was listening alot to of the Swedish punk-rock band Neverstore.

So Neverstore really hits me in the right spot, bring me back to punk-rock bands that were the soundtrack of my childhood. Blink-182 and Neverstore producers(and Canadians) Sum-41. Oddly enough, Neverstore, a Swedish band that sings in English, spends most of it's tour time in Japan. Now, I know that the market there is huge due to it's population but it just seems strange to me. But anyways, they make very good music. They've release three albums, Sevenhundred Sudays, Heroes Wanted and Age Of Hysteria which came out early 2010. Consequently, I have three songs, each from a different album in order of years because that's how OCD I am.

Their musical style changes from album to album, even song to song. They show signs of a more upbeat style in some of their songs(much like Sum 41), but melodramatic teenage anthems in others(blink-182). But always, there is good 4-chord style of music and chilling vocals delivered by Jacob Widén. Again I'm impressed by the ability of people to speak in languages that aren't their native ones, especially with such power.

So after a weekend of skiing and "remembering", I'll finally get to put up some music for you guys, and I'm out!

Glancin' The Review

So today, I've got a song for you, that does not fit the weather that's pouring down outside as I talk. Yes, talk, not type. That's how I roll. I don't why, but this song has always reminded me of summer days, maybe cause Cali makes me thinks about hot weather...

Right, Sugarcult is a punk rock band hailing from the aforementioned California, Santa Barbara to be specific. But that's unimportant. Sugarcult was formed in high school while leading singer Time Pagnotta met then drummer Ben Davis. He later left the band, but hey, he helped spawn this little gem. Punk rock music is one of my favorite genres, a guilty pleasure kind, songs about teenage angst and mischanced love over repetitive rhythm guitar always has been enjoyable to me. Sadly, it is starting to lose steam, perhaps for the best, making the bands that do get known good. The days of Canadian Sum 41 and punk rock giant Blink-182 are over. It seems that the mainstream music industry is being dominated by R&B, electronic influenced dance and pop tracks and the occasional hip-hop song. Not saying that's bad, I love me some upbeat basslines and party lyrics, but diversity is a gem.

For example,The Black Eyed Peas were alot more original when they were the only one pumping out dance pop tunes. Now we have Katy Perry, Kesha(I refuse to accept using $ as an 's') and the Far East Movement. But, I digress, the music industry is constantly changing so perhaps in 3 months I'll be complaining that there isn't enough electronica getting airtime. But, I've always got the internet to find music on! So with that, have a good one, I'm out!

Clutch On the Magnum

Sorry, I said I'd be regular again. I lied, or something. So, here we have it, Medicating by Boys Night Out, a Canadian band from somewhere near Toronto. So it's called Burlington, but all you really need to know is that it's close enough to Toronto be a suburb. It's liking living in the big city but having a house in the...country. So yeah, this is why I shouldn't be posting at 3:00AM, I don't make any sense but I'm determined! So here we go again!

Boys Night Out is a band that I heard once long ago and then someone was playing in the car while we were driving to some place to count butterflies or something and it reminded me I had some of their stuff on my computer, I just needed to scour it out. And scour I did, emerging with 4 songs, and this is my favorite, so sorry, that's all you get to hear! Now, I've mentioned before that I have some kind of dislike for hipsters, so I have to point out that bands like this, that I heard before they got some kind of recognition(this IS a Canadian band we're talking about here, and yes, I'm aware they are dead, talking in the pastish here), I feel proud for the band, and happy that I found them. People that dislike a band because they get noticed, do what they dreamed of since they were children, make me very upset. But, then again I am writing this at now 3:22AM in the morning so lets just go with it.

This song, and many of theirs, are deceptively depressing. Upbeat music, lyrics that, in tone, seem to be happy and yet, listening to the words makes one want to start wearing copious amount of black and take up poetry. (Not trying to be offensive, just trying to exemplify how this song makes me feel) So I would say, while this song does make me feel all those things, it also makes me feel warm inside, a Canadian band that I didn't hear first on a blog or a weird indie internet radio station, must be something wrong. I hope this expansive mass of words isn't too much to swallow and I hope I haven't offended all of my readers, and if you want to take up any of my views I'll be happy to debate with you ♥

Anyways, I hope you all had a good night and enjoyed this song, I'm out.

Hello 2011

First off, HAPPY NEW YEARS! I hope everyone enjoyed 2010 and last night. I sure did. So I had a bunch of songs I was going to put up last night with a party theme. However, that clearly didn't happen. I'll post it in a few days I guess. For you guys that attended New Years Eve concerts(deadmau5 and TGCHU specifically), i'm very jealous, I hope you guys had fun! Someone I know went to deadmau5's and told me it blew his mind, I didn't need to hear that!

So a few years ago, my sister introduced me to Motion City Soundtrack and I instantly liked them. So, when I got back home I did what any good music lover of todays age does, and downloaded their discography. Now, I've posted some of their work before and it was also rather slow and despondent. Lets be clear, not all of their stuff is. This is just what I was feeling this morning(barely) when I woke up. I wish you all the best in the New year, and yes, I'll start being more regular again.

Make it a great one ♥

To The Sky

Long time between posts, yes I know, I'm sorry. I told you all to get your christmas shopping done and I hadn't even started mine but we're good now so I should be good now. There, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. That or my non-existent dog ate it.

So I'm gunna go out on a limb and guess most of you have heard of Kings of Leon and their hit Use Somebody. It was huge, strong vocals with a voice that resonates right the soul and gives everyone shivers to the spine. The other song in this mash-up, that's what it is I forgot to say, is by blog favorites The Xx's Stars(LAZRtag Remix). To be honest, I don't know if LAZRtag is a remix by The Xx or if it's the guy that did it so I'm not going to speculate. The Xx is a indie-rock that has a habit of being mixed up with elecronica, for example Austin Eteron's mash up of them with deadmau5's I find shelter. That can be found here. Anyways, so the mash up in this post is by baronsofindustry, which I again have no idea who they are either, but what I do know is that they killed it.

So, in review, if you don't want to read that large text block with fun stuff in it, here's the song, it's good, enjoy it and hope you had a good weekend, and I hope you have this week off work like me! Until next time guys.
Peace

Rainbows on my Eyelids

So I've been sitting on this song for a few weeks now, well, a few years I just didn't know it. So I started listening to Neverstore when I stumbled upon Lazee's version of Hold On back in the days when I was looking through Hard2Beat's Youtube page to find more Basshunter, god that was a sad time of my musical life... But anyways, I found this song by Lazee and Neverstore. It hit me crazy hard and I loved it. I started listening to Neverstore because punk rock is angst's natural soul mate, and they were really killing it. Lazee saddly fell off a bit, started trying to gangster and it just came across cheezy(this hurts me, trying too hard to swag), but his new tracks with Kano and Tensta are really show casing this Swedish talent. So, when I first hear Hold On, I also heard the remix posted below, but I forgot about it until two weeks ago. It is some fantastic Drum n' Bass. Sorry for not posting guys but school decided it wanted to take all of my time, until next time, later.

Fade

So this song is just...amazing. I've had it on my iPod for a few months now, my friend showed to me during a summer night and I fell asleep listening to it I was so in love with it. Also heard it in the The Girl Next Door which was a very good movie. Anyways, back to topic... This is a very good song and it's really hitting me soul lately so I thought I'd share it. Elliot Smith died for a drug overdose I believe, although don't quote me, check it out, it is no doubt a sad story as this man was clearly talented in the ways of music and lyrics. As the days shorten, perhaps the time hiding from oneself can too. Just a thought on this dreary Thrusday night. Now I must away=)

Accentless Singing

Ever notice that most people that are ESL and sing in English don't have accents? I find that really weird. This is a prime example, Phoenix is a French band, one of the members formerly in band with the guys from Daft Punk, small fucking world no?

Sometimes Life's Okay

So, it's been a while. Ah well. Hope everyone has had a good week, including Halloween of course. So, to the music. As I sit here, i'm trying to think of a good song to share with the world through this...medium of awkward sharing. If it gets easy, let me know, I really would like it to. Also, I have changed the style, more clean cut, I just realized the bar at the top and well...fuck that's just not classy. So I shall try to rid my page of that and yeah, i'm just rambling at this point. I guess I have realized that blogs are about...well the people that write them. So, at the end of this over-long expanse of words, I have finally arrived at what song I wish to share with the world. Oh, if anyone can let me know how to run it out of a single song player, I would be much obliged.
