Flashing Lights

So it's a Monday, that sucks. What sucks even more is that I got my work schedual changed sometime between closing last night and 5 today and no one bothered to call me, huzzah! Oh well, I get to rant about it. Okay, I'm done. Right so, Crystal Castles are from right here, in Canada, that is, well Eastern Canada. No one makes music in BC, seriously[that's a joke, don't get offended musicians from BC, you're too edgy for the rest of the world anyways;)]. But anyways, they're from Ontario I think, and they made it, shows worldwide and recognition even wider. So they are amazing, a blend of electronica and the indie scene[not scene kids] that is rare, and this innovation made them smashing. They were here sometime but, not being 19, I can't get into the bars they play at=( However, I have heard they put on amazing shows. So if you get the chance...GO SEE THEM!

Slang!

So ever been to England? Or Scotland? Or even the fucking Maritimes (if you don't know where that is it's here)? You can't understand them, at all, and it's not just the accent, their slang is just crazyyy. It's like...things that you would think are entirely innocent are really, really not. But as I adore grime, I'm starting to kinda understand some of the British slang, and this song is all about that. Lyrics that kill it...from what I understand anyways, to a beat that is straight up dirty. It's a few weeks old, yes, I know, I'm not timely. Oh well, hope you guys like it as much as I did. It's a good time, and if you can't understand it, at least listen to the track, the bass is hammering. Also, the blog might be changing, I just mean look wise, as I play around with it, the black and grey is...very conservative and looks clean, just not...great. Anyways, I hope you pressed play a while ago cause the song is way better then what I'm writing!

Therapy Couldn't Break Me

So anyone ever heard of "Alternative Hip-Hop"? Yeah, me neither. But whatever this is, Sage Francis kills it,owns it, then puts it through the speakers and makes me fall in love with a sound. A song about growing up, and not one of the cheesy ones either, it actually addresses...well life. Being a kid myself, it's refreshing to hear someone vocalize what I feel, and yet he presents in a way that is just..amazing. As you can tell, I like this song a lot. Oh and if anyone ever tells you that Rap or hiphop is all about drugs, guns and booze, show them this. Perhaps we can convert the world to open-minded(eared) listening? I doubt it, enjoy it if you like, flame me if you don't.

And that is...?

So to the like 2 people that will read this, sorry for not posting. I started working, it sucks, I now know why I go to school. Oh well, back to the music! So for this post I've got Marina and the Diamonds(no that's not the name of her backing band). Marina is a British lady and that's all I really know. However the remix is done by Ocelot, which is a weird name for an animal, which what it is. It's a jungle cat apparently, I thought it sounded like something similar to an oyster. Anyways! This song has some very good vocals and a good beat that bumps along in the back with some nice overlays done and the fading is nice from section to section. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have=)

Fade

So this song is just...amazing. I've had it on my iPod for a few months now, my friend showed to me during a summer night and I fell asleep listening to it I was so in love with it. Also heard it in the The Girl Next Door which was a very good movie. Anyways, back to topic... This is a very good song and it's really hitting me soul lately so I thought I'd share it. Elliot Smith died for a drug overdose I believe, although don't quote me, check it out, it is no doubt a sad story as this man was clearly talented in the ways of music and lyrics. As the days shorten, perhaps the time hiding from oneself can too. Just a thought on this dreary Thrusday night. Now I must away=)

Spaceship!

Whoa two posts in a row about flying, awesome. Anyways, so this Mansions on the Moon are awesome, no doubt, and if you haven't heard of them, WHY NOT!? They give away their music for free so that right there makes them fantasmic, and to sweeten the deal it's even good!( I just re-read that and it would make more sense to switch the two but hey...whatever...tis a Saturday afternoon) They took Strobe by Deadmau5 which is an awesome in it's own rights, added some chill vocals and cropped it to have the best part. Man, I love this! So I got their EP off their website(Right here so you can get it too!) and I'm loving most of it. With this kinda trance-y chill stuff, it takes the right frame of mind but because it's pouring rain outside right now and I have the pleasure of studying chemistry, I am. So, now that I've said that, I must stop procrastinating and go back to Dynamic Equilibrium. I'm excited already...
Keep it real guys and enjoy the weekend.

Let's Fly!

So even though Far East Movement is going to have a SERIOUS problem staying popular post "Like A G6", this song is pretty good. The chilling vocals from the guy from One Republic, whatever his name is, are shockingly powerful. The "rap" verses, I feel hesitant to call it that because this IS pop music we're talking about here. But right, back to topic, the verses are okay, some of them are bordering "good" but nothing quite has the certification to pass it. So, all in all, a solid song that is good for a lazy day or a drive, but, there is nothing new nor any lyrical genius going on here. And yes, I know, I have way too many different play versions, I'll probably end up going with whatever works for each song for now until I find something more... permanent. The Yahoo player is great if I can find a site hosting the song I want quickly, and this one works when I don't have to write it because well...I hate HTML coding.

Accentless Singing

Ever notice that most people that are ESL and sing in English don't have accents? I find that really weird. This is a prime example, Phoenix is a French band, one of the members formerly in band with the guys from Daft Punk, small fucking world no?

Sometimes Life's Okay

So, it's been a while. Ah well. Hope everyone has had a good week, including Halloween of course. So, to the music. As I sit here, i'm trying to think of a good song to share with the world through this...medium of awkward sharing. If it gets easy, let me know, I really would like it to. Also, I have changed the style, more clean cut, I just realized the bar at the top and well...fuck that's just not classy. So I shall try to rid my page of that and yeah, i'm just rambling at this point. I guess I have realized that blogs are about...well the people that write them. So, at the end of this over-long expanse of words, I have finally arrived at what song I wish to share with the world. Oh, if anyone can let me know how to run it out of a single song player, I would be much obliged.
