Singularly Sad

No, the post title suggests some depression but it's not true! Just that this song is a very depressing piece. But, hell, it is enjoyable on some level or I wouldn't be posting it here, right? C'mon, have some faith in my musical tastes, or don't, but have faith in Crystal Castles making amazingly awesome music, okay? Please?

Right, so as I said, Crystal Castles is the duo behind the music in this one, and they give it(to me), a very magical snowy day type of feel. But hey, that's just me. So at this point in reading, if you're a regular reader(of pretty much any music blog with even the slightest hint of electronic/indie), and should be cause music is amazing, you should be, or at least should have heard of the duo. Spawning from the depths of Toronto, the two emerged almost by accident in the days when Myspace was still a viable way to spend time on the internet. No one likes it now but 'coons(scene kids). Anyways, along with this lovely melodic creation comes vocals, oddly, not sung by Alice.

What makes this song even better, is the vocals done Robert Smith of the legendary The Cure. I'm not a big fan of them but I am a fan of Smith's vocals and what they did to influence the music scene, so there. So back to the song you should be listening to now, he delivers them with a more of that lost, yet magical feeling that the melody, the sex appeal of the song, sets up so nicely.

All in all, a song that deals with suicide and depression, is delivered in such a way that makes it so hot you can't stop listening. Well I can't, I'm out!

Dangerous Duality

Sorry about the lack of posts, exam time for me. But, regardless, we shall move forward. This evening we have an interesting blend of indie-electro goodness, dubstep remixes and mash up magic. As such, we emerge with music that has an undefinable genre and hits the soul. Lyrics that don't make sense, if anyone can decipher, hit me up, but that may very well be impossible to do. We shall see.

So baronsofindustry is back here on aT, and lovingly so. Mash ups have exploded on the web due to the ability for them to be produced in the bedroom and capatalizie on several songs that are well known on their own. baronsofindustry decides not to do that on this go around with Crystal Castles, the odd little electronic duo from Toronto, and Booka Shade, another duo from Germany. Crystal Castles are a band I'm well acquainted with, and have even posted about before, and as such I hope that those reading my blog are going to be too. I've posted about them before, tags in the side or at the bottom of every post, click on them to see more of the genre, artist, you get the picture.

Booka Shade is a name I have not heard for a long time. The group from Germany produce mainly club music from my experience. Their most popular song being Body Language featuring M.A.N.D.Y. another duo from Germany. Seems to be alot of those today. Anyways, I never liked the song but it got massive club play before my time and even featured on Forza, which is where I heard it most recently. One thing vital thing is that they were mixed together by baronsofindustry, who I now know as John from Cincinati, but beyond that, I have no idea still. He e-mailed be after I posted about Use Stars, and so I obliged and checked out some of his music. I like some of it, I may post it later, but if you want access to it, and missed the link up there, it's right here. As always, I hope you enjoy the music and show some love, have a good night, I'm out.

Flashing Lights

So it's a Monday, that sucks. What sucks even more is that I got my work schedual changed sometime between closing last night and 5 today and no one bothered to call me, huzzah! Oh well, I get to rant about it. Okay, I'm done. Right so, Crystal Castles are from right here, in Canada, that is, well Eastern Canada. No one makes music in BC, seriously[that's a joke, don't get offended musicians from BC, you're too edgy for the rest of the world anyways;)]. But anyways, they're from Ontario I think, and they made it, shows worldwide and recognition even wider. So they are amazing, a blend of electronica and the indie scene[not scene kids] that is rare, and this innovation made them smashing. They were here sometime but, not being 19, I can't get into the bars they play at=( However, I have heard they put on amazing shows. So if you get the chance...GO SEE THEM!
