Scissors and Glue

Sorry this is getting up like 3 and a half hours later then usual, just didn't have the state of mind to get up early and post. So here we go, with a nice chill track from some of Indie's most talented musicians.

Just as a warning, this is a very indie song and even more weird song, just so you know and don't quit when it first starts. It grew on me for sure, thought I should get that out before you did exactly what I did the first time I heard it. However, I always try to broaden my musical tastes so when a hipster friend suggested that I listen to it, I took her advice, and it turned out pretty well!

So Discovery is made up of the keyboardist from Vampire Weekend and the lead vocalist from Ra Ra Riot (check out Ra Ra Riot's website, it's super cool). Both highly accomplished indie musicians from New York that decided to pump out some electro with a definite indie tinge. Reminds me of Canadian artist Germany Germany's music. Either way, it turns out beautifully so put it on just vibe.

Have a good one, hope your Monday is bearable. I'm out!

I Don't Write Rhymes

So I'm rushing off to work so this will be depressingly short, but hopefully at least one of these songs will leave you with a desire to dance around, or just dance in your chair. Either way, I hope you all enjoy the audio taste test I have set up for today.

The Japanese Popstars are an electronic-indie outfit coming from Northern Ireland where the land and beer are both green. They've got some huge respect from their home country and abroad, winning top live act both at home and for the whole of the UK. They put on some of the most orgasm-inducing live acts and you should NOT pass up any chance to go see them! They've got their own line of Nike shoes, and check them out! They look like they belong in Japanese fashion even,I'm a fan♥

At this point if you don't know who Benny Benassi is...well let's just say you should, okay?! Huge hits, he made Satisfaction, and everyone knows that song! On topic again, he's given this song an uplift and made it even better then it was to start, which is a feat. So play it loud!

So it's Friday, and it's Summer, so blast some music and make sure the night never ends! Now that they partier in me is out, have a good weekend everyone, see you Sunday for some more delicious audio treats. I'm out!

Hits Me

So here we are again, you're looking for some music, and for like the last 40 minutes I have been too, I just could not decide what to post, but I think we're there! Without further adieu, listen loud.

Taking Back Sunday is probably someone you never thought you'd hear on this blog, but here we are. Angst filled lyrics mixed with very extreme changes in songs along with the unique voice that should be coming through your speakers/headphones at this point. They've had some pretty big success, they're biggest being Where You Want To Be which is where the first and more upbeat of these two songs comes from. Upbeat is something I use only in comparison.

The second song is well...the first lyrics kinda set the mood. Beyond that, well it's a pretty emotional song, in both definitions of the word. I hope you guys enjoy this random interjection of very angsty music, it's still enjoyable. Have a good one guys, I'm out!

Needed Change

So it's been a while since I posted some hip-hop, let's dive into it cause I have to leave for work so here we go! A nice mix of rhymes and beats, with some dubstep for flavoring!

Chiddy Bang is a duo that met at College that are some talented musicans. Xapoon Jones does the beats and mixing, as well as the production while Chiddy handles the flowing vocals. The self proclaimed Kings of the Basement Party they have a unique style of melding some deadly verses with everything from indie rock to French electro, they've turned some pretty big heads, getting signed to EMI and getting a debut album, coming out sometime in 2011, as well as opening for British superstar Tinie Tempah. As a final nice touch, Chiddy broke the world record for longest freestyle, going hard for over 9 hours. Respect.

Big Sean is featured on this track, and we've talked about him before so you should check him out. His album is coming out in like 8 days, Finally Famous, will for sure make a pretty big splash with the blog and underground scenes, if not getting some mainstream air-wave play. Captured By Kings, real name Connor Walden, is an 18 year old producer from the sunny state of California, and he provides the dupstep portion of this track, and does a pretty good job. I would have preferred a bit harder of a bass, but he does a good job of keeping the song's soul in tact while still giving it his own twist and flavor.

So there you have it, genres I've been neglecting lately, and I'll try not to anymore. Have a good Monday morning, I'm out!

I Am, You Are

Alright, so this time hopefully I won't be as dumb and actually post the MUSIC and not mess up again. Sorry about that. It's up now by the way, and still a sick song. But, onto the audio assault for today.

Ellie Goulding is someone you should have heard of by now. Dashingly beautiful, fantastically talented and shockingly creative. Sorry, adjectives make me happy, but anyways what I really mean to get across is that if you haven't heard of her yet, buy he album Bright Lights which is the extended version of her debut Lights. She's got an interesting voice, sounds super modified, but check out some of her acoustic sessions, they impressive. Anyways, she provides the actual song, with some remixing help from a fellow Londoner.

Azedia is a duo based out of London, and they've not been given enough credit for their talent so here I am trying to do that to at least a few people. Check out their Sound Clould. They put on their mix hats and come out with something that shocks the already enjoyable song in a totally different direction.

Hope you guys enjoy it, i'm out!

Somebody Told Me

So the Canucks lost last night, and there are riots in the streets, well there were last night, and it was super sketchy down there. Cars got exploded, drugs were spread around and fights broke out. So with that over shadowing everything I decided to go with a nice up beat dance and party song.

Ryan Conway is one of the three contributing artists on this track, and they all hail from the Toronto area, so big props for that. Love to see Canada pumping out some great tunes, even if it does have a Dutch feel. So Conway and Andy's iLL provide the fantastic bassline that would fill nearly any dance floor, in a packed club or the carpet in your room. Add into that the smoothly drug infused lyrics of Will Steep known as The Girls Can Hear Us!
Unlimited Drugs
Now these three along with Zeds Dead represent something really good coming out of Canada. Thanks to the internet, and yes blogs in particular ♥, have allowed people to hear the talent that Canada has, so big ups to you guys from "doin' something big, shout it out, shut it down". Keep it classy now Vancouver.

Enjoy the beats, spread some love this Friday, kick off Summer strong. I'm out!

Wow, forgot to post the song, that's embarrassing. Sorry, early mornings and all...

Hold My Breath

Oh man, I'm really not dead I just have really bad posting schedulness. Well, bad scheduling cause school is done so I have no grasp on the timing of the week. But I'll try to get back to one post every two days, which is what I was at before. So to kick that off, kinda? I was gunna post this stuff anyways, but it seems like a good idea to make it seem important, right?

Damn Hot
First up we've got the French DJ Martin Solveig mixed with the lovely Canadian vocals of Dragonette that we just recently posted about. These two team up rather often, considering that Dragonette really isn't that well known up until her recent features in Martin Solveig's Hello and Kaskades Fire In Your New Shoes. Very up beat song with some trashy lyrics that combine to make it a very "feel good" song.

Next, we've got Fenech-Soler from the UK being remixed by another British duo, Sigma. The product is what I would call chill-step or something along those lines. A very relaxed beat with some powerful bits of pass and good vocals provided by Fenech-Soler. Of course, that's just my opinion, hope you guys like both these tunes. Now I promise, kinda, that there will be a new post up on Thursday!♥

Finished!

I'm back for the time. And super amped on pretty much everything right now cause today is a big day for me. I have my last day of high school classes, EVER! And I'm headed downtown to party on the streets of Vancouver when the Canucks get to within 1 win from the Stanley Cup! Yes, I'm deeply Canadian at heart.

So in the spirit of that I'm here to post some dance mashup music that is a bit old, like earlier this year and I did hear it like the week it came out just never got around to posting it up here. So now I will, so here it is. The White Panda are a DJ duo from Chi-town and California, and they've got some serous talent for mashing up music. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I just feel like dancing the night away cause I'm so stoked on everything, so here you go. This is a sample of my favorite songs, they're full mix tape is available here

Walking On A Dream

So I've got some sad news, this is going to be a short post, and that I won't be posting again until Friday. This is my LAST WEEK of high school. Ever. Ahhhh! Also, half of my classes have in class finals so I've been studying my brain out and will be until Friday, at which point, I'm done! Anyways, now that you know that, onto the music.

Two North American Artists come to you this very sunny Monday morning. Well it is here anyways. Kaskade and Dragonette are American and Canadian respectively, and they've both received international acclaim. This song actually got some radio play which is kinda cool as a dance music fan, however this song hovers on the border of "dance" and "pop" but regardless it's enjoyable. So until Friday, I can't provide you with anymore tantalizingly tasty music. Have a good week everyone, I'm out!

Through The Night

So here in Vancouver it's Gameday once again so as I get prepared and organized to head downtown and jump around like a crazy person, I'll share some music with you guys cause I'm that awesome. And because it's been two days since my last post♥

This lengthly named song comes to us, in it's most unmixed form, from British Indie band The Wombats. Based out of Liverpool they've hit the spot of "successful indie band" which may anger some people, but my point is to say that they've got a decent amount of mainstream recognition. They met in school, put out some music and bam boom 8 years later you're listening to them. They've played at the Festival of Culture and got some Top40 airwave play, and put out an album this April.

'96 Bulls are a remixing duo that I really can't find out much about. I know they're born in Australia and that they're names are Armstrong and Jackson. So there you go, now you know, what I know. Of course, if anyone can tell me who they are or anything, that'd be great. The link up there is to their SoundCloud and I'd suggest checking it out cause they've got some great remixes.

Paper Wings

Okay so two very different songs. One a mash-up with an all-star lyricist, the other a remix of a Australian singer with a dynamic vocal range. Sadly, I'm in a rush again, I hope that doesn't break too many hearts. Lemme know, I'll find a way to mend them.

Team Teamwork is a guy that mashes up some pretty weird songs. The Ocarina of Rhyme, which is where this comes from, is a perfect example of just how strange they get. This one, and a few others off the album, turned out amazingly and then some. Of course, this is to be expected, but I even showed it to a friend of mine that hates rap, and he liked it. So maybe some of you that share his views will too!

Sia is an Austrialian pop singer with a taste of the exotic in style. She has an impressive vocal range and some hugely different songs. The remix is done by German (I think) DJ Jens O. He adds to it an upbeat dance bass line.

So there we have it, I hope you enjoy the variety of songs that I have to offer for you. I'm out!
