Break!

Sorry guys, I've had a hectic Christmas break. I hope you guys had a good one. So deadmau5 is not only probably the biggest thing ever in House music. It makes me happy because, being from Canada, I gotta show some love for him. Any veteran of his music knows how much it has changed and evolved. He started in house music classics like Tau V2 and Bounce. In the last few years he's decided, fuck it, I'll expand. So he did. He started out with I Remember which featured Kaskade, American electronica superstar. First time he ever got radio play time.

After this, he gave everyone the hit he was waiting for. Ghosts n' Stuff. It was his biggest mainstream hit and it gave him the room to blow up all over the world. He smashed records for dance and electronic charts. He put North America on the map for the dance scene. But, he did start to show some deviation from house music, getting him so flack from his core fans. Next up in his rise to stardom from T.O is Strobe. Oh and for the links, open them in a new tab, can't make them do that on their own, sorry.

Now don't get me wrong, I love me some deadmau5, even with his wanderings into dubstep with Raise Your Weapon. But , lets be clear, deadmau5 is at his best when he's playing house music. So, he went back to it with Limit Break and let everyone have it for free. There we have it, enjoy everyone.

Late Nights

So as the nights get colder and I can see my breath when I'm out walking, I get really into songs that make me feel good and promote long walks and too much thinking. This is one of those songs. Skrillex aka Sonny Moore started off in the band From First To Last. When was 16 he joined FFtL and wrote Note To Self which was a huge hit. So big I didn't even like their music and I liked that song. But hey, I was an angsty teenager, still am, so maybe that explains it. Anyways, he tore it up in that "emo-core" scene for a while before dropping off the radar. Then in June of 2010, he released My Name Is Skrillex using this alias for the first time on an album. The album exploded on the blog scene and he started releasing remixes of people like iSquare and Lady Gaga.

On October 25,2010 Skrillex released Scary Monsters and Nice Spirits on mau5trap records and went on tour with deadmau5 giving him massive amounts of exposure to a North American audience. He is currently working on a full length album as well as putting out remixes that are topping Hype Machine's charts constantly. He got a name has having a very hard style, some hated it, others thrived on it. With Your Friends[Long Drive] is very different from most of his other stuff, laid back and almost a trance or house feel to it. Either way, it makes me happy, and his other stuff does too, if I'm in the right frame of mind. I hope you guys enjoy it and hope you guys enjoy your Holidays, talk to you in a few days.
Peace

To The Sky

Long time between posts, yes I know, I'm sorry. I told you all to get your christmas shopping done and I hadn't even started mine but we're good now so I should be good now. There, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. That or my non-existent dog ate it.

So I'm gunna go out on a limb and guess most of you have heard of Kings of Leon and their hit Use Somebody. It was huge, strong vocals with a voice that resonates right the soul and gives everyone shivers to the spine. The other song in this mash-up, that's what it is I forgot to say, is by blog favorites The Xx's Stars(LAZRtag Remix). To be honest, I don't know if LAZRtag is a remix by The Xx or if it's the guy that did it so I'm not going to speculate. The Xx is a indie-rock that has a habit of being mixed up with elecronica, for example Austin Eteron's mash up of them with deadmau5's I find shelter. That can be found here. Anyways, so the mash up in this post is by baronsofindustry, which I again have no idea who they are either, but what I do know is that they killed it.

So, in review, if you don't want to read that large text block with fun stuff in it, here's the song, it's good, enjoy it and hope you had a good weekend, and I hope you have this week off work like me! Until next time guys.
Peace

Bad Ideas

Good evening everyone, how are you? Not like you can answer but it makes me feel better about writing to myself every few days. So as school draws to a close for this term or semester depending on where you're from(it might have already ended for you, in which case i'm jealous), and as the Christmas season is upon us for those that have real jobs and don't hide in academia, everyone seems to become either cheery, or morose. Cheery for the holidays, morose for the "sad" winter(or those with SADS). So today I thought I'd throw at you a song with wishful thinking, those wishing for winter break faster, and those hoping for summer. Hopefully, you guys like it. It's an old(er) song by Example who now, if you don't know, has blown up on the mainstream/dance scene in England. And if you don't know, you don't deserve any cookies this holiday

So here's the song, sorry for the short post today without any links or as much background info as I would like to give but I should have been in bed a while ago as I have to get up much earlier then usual cause my school has a breakfast with Santa for grads, yay I hope you guys are enjoying your time, whatever you're doing. And get your Christmas shopping down! Now! Early! Before the eve of panic!

Bright Colours!

Good evening again, I hope you're all enjoying the lagfest that is happening because my snow script sucks. Too bad, it looks pretty, and I snow, so deal. So on to the music. This time I've got a indie-electro band that is popping up all over the place lately. Some of them good, some of them painfully bad, but all of them have some kind of following. Being artsy lets you be both(bad and followed, that is). While I'm all for being creative, when it becomes disturbing, for example the women that made a sculpture of feces, her own...
Right so we really need to get back to the topic of this post and not into some weird tangent. HeyHiHello! are a band from Canton,Ohio full of dance pop music and teen heartthrob band members that inspire girls to write on themselves among other things I would assume. Anyways, to me, they just make music that makes me want to smile or dance in the streets, which is not a normal feeling for me.
So anyways, their album is called Keep You On Your Toes! and it's very bubbly. This song, whatever I decide it to be, I'm undecided between two songs. Maybe I'll post both... Anways, I hope you guys do enjoy whatever I decided to post, e-mail me more stuff
Happy Holidays! Enjoy!

Hometown Hero

Meet Matt Brevner, he's a partially black rapper from Vancouver! Someone posted one of his songs on Facebook and I ♥'d it right away. It's pretty laid back but still, his rhymes are good, the beat is rocking and while the girl sampled in it is autotuned to hell,it offers a nice switch from his rap. He's got a free album up on his site right now so click his name up there if you like what you're about to hear, or hopefully are already hearing.
So I figured I'd throw this guy in cause he's decently unknown outside of Vancouver and really should get some respect. If any of you want to send me songs send them to me!. E-mail is also in the side if you want it. So by now you should be a bit through to song, hope you guys enjoy it and be sure to check me out I'll keep adding more music, I wanna share my love=)

East To West Coast We Coastin'

So here we are again, 1AM in the morning putting off sleeping. Lets do this thing.
So Lupe Fiasco is a rap artist that blew up a few years ago. When I was playing basketball, his Kick,Push was always blasting through the speakers in the gym. So He made a pretty big impact on me cause he was the first rap artist I was exposed to that lyrical talent that extended into the realm of meaning and not drugs, guns and OGs. Just so we're clear, I don't think gangster rap is bad, just Lupe is in a class of his own. He's got swagger, he's got rhymes, he's got his own label that he launched,First and Fifteen(FnF). He's been recognized by artists with respect which they toss up for him. What sells his music is the stories, sometimes extended over songs and albums. It sets him apart from everyone else. Once again, I really like Fiasco, I'm excited for his new album Lasers that drops sometime in the Spring as it stands now. Either way, Lupe Fiasco will always have a place in my heart for his introduction my love of hip-hop and rap music.

So this song is off his first album, "Food and Liquor", and it is amazing, to me. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it, I'm gunna go try and sleep now so have a good time till the next I have a one-sided conversation with you.

Rainbows on my Eyelids

So I've been sitting on this song for a few weeks now, well, a few years I just didn't know it. So I started listening to Neverstore when I stumbled upon Lazee's version of Hold On back in the days when I was looking through Hard2Beat's Youtube page to find more Basshunter, god that was a sad time of my musical life... But anyways, I found this song by Lazee and Neverstore. It hit me crazy hard and I loved it. I started listening to Neverstore because punk rock is angst's natural soul mate, and they were really killing it. Lazee saddly fell off a bit, started trying to gangster and it just came across cheezy(this hurts me, trying too hard to swag), but his new tracks with Kano and Tensta are really show casing this Swedish talent. So, when I first hear Hold On, I also heard the remix posted below, but I forgot about it until two weeks ago. It is some fantastic Drum n' Bass. Sorry for not posting guys but school decided it wanted to take all of my time, until next time, later.

Wouldn't Be Me If I Knew My Limit

So tonight I've got my favorite Free Style Friday special from a very talented lyricist e-Dubble. He is from the states somewhere, Philadelphia I think but don't quote me on that. The backing beat is Animus Vox by Glitch Mob(another great group), which is gained popularity from the success of one of their members, ediT. Glitch Mob is based out of LA and is doing some very innovative stuff in terms of music. e-Dubble however is just going crazy on the mic. His flow reminds me alot of another blog superstar group, The Girls Can Hear Us from London, Ontario. The hook is catchy, the rhymes are killer, good enough to get him to release an album. However, I believe, you can still get most of his Freestyles off Hype Machine, maybe even off his site, I honestly have just not had the time to check up on it=( Enjoy his flow and have a great one guys (et femmes)!
