Tell Her Hi!

With New Years Eve, the biggest party of the year, just around the corner I figured that posting a mashup would be in good taste. Probably helps that DJ Rudy dropped a complete floor mover a few days ago. I guess now it's almost been two weeks, holidays and all. Anyways, this song makes me wish that my life was a dance floor. Listen loud!

Here's another song to keep your feet moving. This one is from NY based musictian Outasight. He sells an upbeat, late nights laughing lifestyle of New York, and damn I'm buying it. It's something about hearing someone say "Let's Go", and you know that where ever you're headed it's going to be a damn good time. Keep on dancing.

I might not post on New Years day, or at least not in my morning. We'll see how I feel. I hope you guys have a great New Years, you know what they say, bad choices make good stories. I'm out!

Color Blind

So now I hope to get back to regular posting after the holiday season has ended. I'm back to school in about a weeks time so time to try and get back to some semblance of normality. Of course New Years has not happened yet, so there's always the chance of that going sideways. Right, music. Sex Ray Vision is that couple of kids that make some great music, from Stanford if I remember correctly. They dropped this about two weeks ago, it's a remix of a Snow Patrol song, which is usually not bad. Check it out.

I really love Christmas, it kinda snuck up on me this year because I was overloaded with Exams I forgot about how soon it was. Needless to say, it was awesomely amazing mainly because it was with family and all that other cliche shit, that actually applies to me at this time of year. Oh, and I'm a year older as of a few days ago, so I guess that's exciting. I dunno, Birthdays always seem a bit...pointless to me. I've now wandered a bit off topic, and before I go any farther, here's a some more music. Inner Worlds is a guy from New York City that makes music, in this case a truly captivating remix of a Yelle song. It appears to be an entry for a contest, so do that if you like it. I'd characterize this as Glitch Pop if I absolutely had to,however to classify it accurately would probably require several paragraphs of words. And it's rather late. Enjoy these glitchy goodness, listen loud.

I'll post again on the 30th, maybe even earlier. Have a good couple of days, if you're lucky like me and don't have to work right now, relax and enjoy it. I'm out!

Spiraling Upwards

So I am in a bit of a rush, so quick post. Here's Lana Del Rey, she's blown up all over the blogosphere in the last couple of months, and for good reason. Her voice is haunting, and she can create some great melodies. However, the melodies in this case, are taken care of by British born Gemini, and he kills it.
Born to Die (Gemini Remix)-Lana Del Rey

And just for good measure, he's a Ratatat song, because he makes some seriously amazing music. Respect his talent. He's been around for a while, and still isn't a huge name, he really should be.
Seventeen Years-Ratatat
Sorry again about the rushed post, I hope you guys are having a winter break, you should mostly be on it now. I'm out!

Touch The Ground

So I'm headed home today! For like two weeks thanks to semester break and me finally being done exams! Woo! Anyways, besides that exciting news, I'll try to post every two days, but because it's both my birthday and Christmas, we'll see. I might miss a few days, forgive me? ♥ Here's Y LUV's new single. It's super awesome indie-electronic music that I found, and then fell in love with. So give them a listen, there pretty sweet.

I know, this is some pretty experimental music I have to say, but it's super great. For some odd reason it costs $1 to buy the song, but $0 to buy the album... So do that! Anyways, Giraffage is Charlie Yin, a guy based out of San Fran. Beyond that, I haven't really found out much more. Except of course that he makes some fantastic music. So listen and enjoy!

Just so you know, my OCD self had to find two artists that played from the same source before I allowed myself to post this. Oh boy. Anyways, enjoy the music, tell all your friends about them, and have a good few days! I'm out.

Data Conversion

First, a huge song that's been in my head for too long. We've discussed how much I love British accents, especially in singing, and The Wombats do a great job writing songs too. Lenno is this guy that makes some pretty smashing music from Finland. Check him out, please. He's awesome.
1996(Lenno Remix)-The Wombats

Next up, we've got Mitch-Mash who makes some of my favorite mashups, so check him out too. This time, he drops in some rhymes over Coyote Kisses already sick song Acid Wolfpack. His songs still make me wish there was flashing lights around me all the time. Listen loud!
Acid Rappack-Mitch Mash
Short post, I know. I'm forgoing studying, which I should be doing, to go skiing so that's why I'm a bit rushed, anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the music, keep it real. I'm out!

Breathe Deep

So here we are again, and I've just discovered that I don't actually have any food in my room and because I go home in a few days, there's no point in actually doing anything about that lack of food. So I get to starve, or actually I just have to go to the caff, but not eat breakfast for the next few days, because I don't want to spend $5 on a bowl of cereal. Right then, music. Haven't had a mashup in a bit, so here's Orlando based producer TeeTs. He really wants people to like his Facebook page, so do that here if you like his music. This is just a sample, I had a hard time picking, and he's only got 6 songs up!
Dirty Sexy Strobes-TeeTs

Here's Jay Fresh, Texas based rapper that has some serious skill. He just dropped an EP that was producer by Electronic music Wizard Pretty Lights, and both of their talents are on display. He's up and coming, hopefully with this kind of flow his career just keeps snow balling into something huge. This right here, was my favorite song off The Delta Project, his EP with Pretty Lights. So check it out, show him some love, all the tracks are free.
On & Off-Jay Fresh

I'm loving that artists are releasing free music to get their name out, they get the publicity, and we get to feel not bad about downloading it...legally of course. Enjoy the music guys, play it loud. I'm out!

Turn It Down

Late post, yes yes I'm aware, but that's okay because I actually knew what I wanted to post today. Well kind of. Anyways, I've got an exam at 6PM tonight (I know right, lame) that I have to get back to studying for, so let's get to this music thing. These two Finish guys that go by the name Timo Juuti & Hector 87 did an absolutely amazing remix of M83's already great song Midnight City. Turns out I'm a bit late to the party train, I had never heard of them before, but check out their music because it's sweet. Buy it if you've got some money to donate to their cause, that is the cause of making great music! Anyways, listen loud.
Midnight City(Timo Juuti & Hector 87 Remix)-M83

Secondly, in a totally different direction, we've got Carousel, an indie-electro (ish) group based out of...San Fran I think. They make some fucking great music to start, even better, they give it away! Yay! Their EP is right here and their singles, including The Thrill, are right here. So please, check them out, and give them lots of love. Then they'll keep making music as cheerful and fresh as this!
The Thrill-Carousel

So I'm actually pretty happy right now, because at the end of this day, I'll be 3/5th's of the way through my exams, and it's all down hill from there, right? Yeah sorta, anyways I'm out!

Oh, as a bonus, check out this Pop-Rock band's cover of a Taylor Swift song, it's really cool, and I don't even like this song that was a mega-smash-millionsofdollars hit. Go Home Freshmen is pretty damn cool, their name is fitting considering I'm actually going home in a week(ish) and I am a Freshmen. Right, I need to stop writing this and start studying, but yeah, download their stuff. Here's a link to their two covers that I have in my head right now.

Stars Come Out

So I've been busy with Exams, so here's some new music because I love you guys. It's a nice mix between Tinie Tempah and Big Sean, I never imagined hearing them on the same track but here it is, and it works quite well. Some clever lines, with a decent hook and a beat you vibe to. What else could you want from these two young rhymers?
Lucky Cunt-Tinie Tempah & Big Sean

Next I've got a mash up, which I can't take credit for finding, a buddy of mine sent it to me and told me to enjoy. And damn, Californian producer Ipaneema delivers. Mixing the Madeon remix of Raise Your Weapon with Cinema, the smash hit by Benassi, worked deliciously well. It makes me wish that more people made music like this. So blast it loud, cause I think it might be all that gets me through my first exam week.
Rock Your Weapon At The Cinema-Ipaneema

So now I'm off to study for a bit before my exam, well shit. I'm out guys, have a good one.

Far From Home

So here's me, sleep deprived, and having to write an exam in too few hours. Here we go with music because I'm going to pass out after this and hope like hell I do well after studying my eyes out. To start we've got a nice upbeat remix of a song that makes me want to dance in the first place by Houston based producer Glasnost. He does a good job with some poppy beats and nice claps. Which is fitting. I suppose there's tons of things a girl should do with two hands...
Hands (Glasnost Remix)-The Ting Tings

So who knew, AudioDax doesn't only make big dubstep drops but also things that sound like this. I'm not sure what to call it, indie electronic even? Whatever, it's absolutely delectable. The scratchy sounds that they have mixed in give it a very... visceral feeling. I don't even know anymore,I just think that you guys should check them out, support them, they totally do sound like my next favorite band.
It Goes Cold-AudioDax

So I'm going to go pass out now, I'm out!

Occupy Library

Late post, I know. I stayed up late studying, or early actually, so now I'm sleep schedual is all messed up, and I actually should be studying now but here's my break. Here's Swedish duo Old Amica that great some fantastic indie music, even a bit of electronic at time, not this time though. This is just good, clean indie music that makes your heart a bit warmer in the middle of winter.
New Start by Old Amica

So Avicii played a live set recently and leaked this song, turns out people are already remixing it. Including two recently blogged about students Sex Ray Vision. Of course, this song is more fitting as everyone hunkers down to slam through exams. I hope that this can help you out in not wanting to rip your eyes out as much it did for me.
Fuck School(Sex Ray Vision Remix)-Avicii

Now that I've spent like half an hour not study, I get to spend another two hours actually studying,so I'm out!

12.05.2011

Home Stretch

So I'm done classes for the Semester officially today, and thus is why I didn't get up until 11 and didn't get around to posting this until now, because I started studying for exams last night until much too early in the morning... But it is okay, because now I have more time to sit here, study my eyes out,and find new music. So here we go,some Nujabes. We've talked about him before, and how much I wish he wasn't dead, his talent was unmatched. Pretty much anything being put out today can no match this Japan native's flow.
Waiting For The Clouds-Nujabes & Substantial

Next we've got GIDDY, Ontario based house producer that burst out a little while ago with the kind of uplifting melody I usually hear from Avicii. It's so similar I actually thought it was him, working with someone else, but no. And damn, I'm glad, without the terrifiyingly slamming bass that has invaded most of electronic music, we've got some nice, crisp house music. He's working with another Canadian producer in Martin Giuffre who I really can't find much about. However, his tracks also hearken to classic House, so check him out too.
Triumph-Giddy & Martin Giuffre

Listen loud everyone, I'm out!

Bring Them Home

So I'm sitting here waiting for my ride up to the mountain, so I figured I should probably post today. I've seen like 30 people do the walk of shame in the last 10 minutes that I've been awake so I figure some of you could use some music to uh...soothe your dignity. So here's french artist Kick Snare Leave that got some huge respect lately from the song you should be listening to. His indie electro flow is great, really making me wish I knew more about him. So here it is, enjoy.
GunsGat2BeGuns-Kick Snare Leave

And now that I'm rushed, because I may have gotten distracted, here's some Myndset to make you happy, a nice deadmau5 remix, if you're in England go check out the lights show he's putting on, it looks insane.
Aural Psyanpse(Myndset Remix)-deadmau5

I'm off to ski, have a good couple of days. I'm out!

Happy December!

It's fucking December! Get stoked! I love this time of year, less school, more snow, skiing and Christmas! It's just so exciting all the time! So I am, pretty amped. Anyways, in music news, if you've been on Hypem you'll have noticed that OVERWERK dropped his EP yesterday. So I figure I should probably give a review of it, as he was part of TGCHU! and I've shown them quite a bit of love. He's a Toronto based producer who's single Buzzin' burst him into the music scene a little while ago. His EP, titled The Nth º, is continuous mix, which I think is almost always a good idea, especially because it's not awkward when played not in consecutive order. It's very upbeat, with a definite Electro influence, hearing an album today that doesn't have a dubstep track is a nice change. Here's a song from it, so listen loud, and check out the whole thing, it's worth your time.
Paradigm-OVERKWERK & Nick Nikon

So I try really hard to have a very diverse posting of music, but when Rusko and Mike Posner come around and pump out a great song it's hard to ignore the fact that it's there. So two electronic songs it is, I'm a big fan of Mike Posner's voice, he's done some pretty big things as far as convincing me that guys should stay away from singing unless they're playing a guitar, and this is totally different from what I've heard. Shut Up is less sweet vocals and more rhymes, which actually works alright for me. Rusko provides a delicious beat and Posner makes sure to deliver in the vocals department.
Shut Up-Mike Posner & Rusko
